| dc.description.sponsorship | The study examined monitoring practices and healthcare services in public hospitals in Uganda using a case of Grade B and Kitala HCIII. The study was guided by the following objectives: (i) To examine the effect of data collection frequency on the quality of healthcare services in Grade B and Kitala HCIII, (ii) To assess how reporting and documentation practices influence healthcare services in Grade B and Kitala HCIII, (iii) To investigate the effect of stakeholder feedback on healthcare services in Grade B and Kitala HCIII.The research design used was cross a case study research design. A sample of 114 respondents from Grade B and Kitala HCIII was used. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The questionnaire and interview guide were the main instruments of data collection. According to study findings, majority 55.4% agreed that data on patient care is collected regularly in this facility. This regular collection of patient data enhances service continuity, enables timely interventions, supports accurate health reporting and contributes to efficient patient follow-up in chronic care cases such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis where regular documentation is important for treatment adherence and outcome tracking. Results from the field on the second objective revealed that, majority 40.3% agreed that effective reporting and documentation practices facilitate communication and teamwork within these health facilities. According to the third objective, study findings, revealed that 56.5% agreed that Patients are encouraged to give feedback about the care they receive. | |
