| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between motivation strategies and employee productivity in aviation sector of Uganda basing on a case study of Uganda Civil Aviation Authority. The study was guided by three objectives that is; i) to examine the relationship between Incentives and employee productivity of UCAA, ii) to investigate the contribution of teamwork building on employee productivity of UCAA and iii) to assess the effect of autonomy on employee productivity of UCAA. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design with a quantitative and qualitative research approach. The study used probability sampling and non-probability sampling methods employing simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques to select respondents. A sample of 124 respondents were selected from a population of 180 and data was collected using self-administered questionnaire which was distributed to respondents from each respondent. Results reveal that incentives had a positive significant association with employee productivity (r=.578, p=000), teamwork building had a positive significant relationship with employee productivity (r=.213, p= .000) and autonomy had a relationship with employee productivity (r=.473, p= .000). The regression analysis showed that all motivation strategies including incentives (Adjusted R Square=.325), teamwork building (Adjusted R Square=.3.5) and autonomy (Adjusted R Square=.215) contribute to employee productivity. It was therefore recommended that the HR Department should develop a transparent performance-based reward framework that clearly links measurable employee outputs to specific rewards, ensuring that staff understand the criteria for recognition and that the system is applied fairly. It was revealed that the Heads of Departments should ensure that team leaders are trained in inclusive leadership and effective group management through sessions coordinated by the HR Training Unit, so they can better support team dynamics and performance. It was also suggested that the ICT and Logistics Departments should ensure that all employees have adequate access to tools, systems and other resources that support independent decision-making, including digital platforms for reporting, analysis and internal communication | |
