Abstract
The study sought to establish The Effects of Corruption on Public Procurement in Uganda, Case Study Wakiso District in central region. The study was conducted using the following specific objectives; to investigate the effects of bribery on contract award in public procurement in Uganda, to find out the effects of favoritism on bid evaluation in public procurement in Uganda and to know the effects of embezzlement in procurement planning in public procurement in Uganda.
Furthermore, many scholars like Rood hoof and Abele (2006), manhood (2010), National Integrity survey (2006), Shah (2006), Kramer (2012), Amundsen (1999) and many others looked at the effects of corruption on public procurement in Uganda.
The researcher used methods like research design which was the overall strategy that one could choose to integrate the different components of the study. This consisted of the qualitative and quantitative approaches used for collecting the information from the field. He also used study population, sample size, sampling techniques when collecting data or information for the research. The researcher also used the questionnaires, interview methods when collecting data or information.
The data or information got from the field was presented, analyzed and interpreted using tables, pie charts, graphs and demographic characteristics of respondents which were age, sex, marital status for research.
The researcher recommended and concluded the research giving the recommendation as further research should be done and laws to be enforced strictly for better results.
