Abstract

A qualitative research approach, utilizing an Ethnographic Research design was employed to offer an in-depth understanding of the subject. The study employed purposive and snowball sampling techniques to select 50 respondents, including, local craft artisans, local craft sellers, elders, religious leaders, traditional healers, local craft users and youth connected to Ankole cultural heritage. The study recommends that more indigenous research should be carried out concerning indigenous Ankole cultural artifacts, Museums and gallaries to be established in Kashari South, government should fund research and publication of the indigenous Ankole cultural artifacts among the Bairu sub ethnic group such that they can be accessed easily and also to sensitize the indigenous Bairu about the value of their cultural identity for cultural appreciation and posterity.
